The six-disc set takes viewers even deeper into the captivating world of Alicia Florrick, the scorned wife of an embarrassed politician whose very public sex and political corruption scandals land him in jail. The centerpiece of the bonus features is “The Education of Alicia Florrick: Making Season One,” a multichapter look at the intricacies of the series from the pilot through production, which includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the show’s cast, creators, director and executive producer. The DVD also includes deleted scenes, episode commentaries and a look at recent public scandals and how they inform the writing on the show.

Brooklyn’s Finest

Posted on Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 at 10:00 pm

Burned out veteran Eddie Dugan is just one week away from his pension and a fishing cabin in Connecticut. Narcotics officer Sal Procida has discovered there’s no line he won’t cross to provide a better life for his long-suffering wife and seven children. And Clarence “Tango” Butler has been undercover so long his loyalties have started to shift from his fellow police officers to his prison buddy Caz, one of Brooklyn’s most infamous drug dealers.

With personal and work pressures bearing down on them, each man faces daily tests of judgment and honor in one of the world’s most difficult jobs. When NYPD’s Operation Clean Up targets the notoriously drug-ridden BK housing project, all three officers find themselves swept away by the violence and corruption of Brooklyn’s gritty 65th Precinct and its most treacherous criminals.

During seven fateful days, Eddie, Sal and Tango find themselves hurtling inextricably toward the same fatal crime scene and a shattering collision with destiny.

An asteroid the size of Texas is heading directly toward the Earth at 22,000 MPH. NASA’s executive director, Dan Truman (Thornton), has only one option, to send up a crew to destroy the asteroid. He enlists the help of Harry S. Stamper (Willis), the world’s foremost deep core oil driller and Stamper’s roughneck team of drillers to land on the asteroid, drill into its surface, and drop a nuclear device into the core. On this heroic journey, they face the most physically and emotionally challenging conditions ever encountered to save the world and prevent Armageddon.

Happy Tears

Posted on Friday, April 23rd, 2010 at 9:52 pm

Jayne (Parker Posey) and Laura (Demi Moore) are about to take on the first man they just might not be able to handle: their father Joe (Rip Torn). Dutiful daughters returning to the house they grew up in, Jayne and Laura are forced to take a closer look at their own not-so-perfect lives. Laura suspects that Joe needs full-time care, but Jayne refuses to believe that their father’s condition is serious. Jayne’s compulsion to escape reality only increases Laura’s attempts to yank her back down to earth. Meanwhile, Joe still sings and plays the blues on his prized guitar, and the lively widower even has a new “ladyfriend,” shameless and sassy Shelly (Ellen Barkin). Tensions flare as Joe’s senility increases and the close sisters must also juggle their own very different lives – but their adventures back home are not without merriment, mischief and even a little childhood magic.

Mystery Team

Posted on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 at 6:53 pm

We enjoys some Mystery Team here at CinemaBlend. Josh Tyler cumulous congratulations at it when he saw it at Sundance last year, and Tim Gomez later debated its event with his name of reasons “Why Missing Mystery Team Is a Bad Call.” At present we’ve acquired good news for those of you who’ve been expecting for the opportunity to see this one: it’s hitting DVD May 25th.
Produced by the cartoon clowning company Derrick Comedy, Mystery Team keeps an eye on the works of three high-school losers who spend their time working out secrets Encyclopedia Brown-style. Surprisingly, a vocation spent delivering cats from trees and working out who stole Old Mrs. Kochanski’s mail has not groomed them for their greatest case yet: resolving an real, honest-to-gosh murder.
You likely acknowledge actor Donald Glover from NBC’s Community, and the remain of the cast admits fellow Community alum DC Pierson, Aubrey Plaza (Funny People), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Dominic Dierkes (Parks and Recreation), and Matt Walsh (The Hangover).
