The ever reliable Jennifer Connelly gives another very convincing performance in this atmospheric film. The supporting cast is perfect and believable. The direction is clever and well-paced, but not heavy-handed for this genre. The scriptwriters created terrific characters and believable plot twists in this very suspenseful and eerie film

"Dark Water was the first story I watch of Linda Hall's. Although I don't consider it as good as some of her other works, I did like the good characters and the struggle of Jake, the PI, to connect with his estranged daughter. This story is definitely food for thought."

"This movie is by far one of the most frighteningly haunting movies that we have ever seen! This great DVD comes with the options to watch it dubbed over in English or in Japanese with English subtitles. Not only is this much more horrific than the recent remake, it is scarier when watched with its original Japanese soundtrack. We love horror films as well as foreign subtitled ones and found this a welcome addition to our collection!"
