Gilmore Girls is a Creative Arts Emmy-winning, Golden Globe-nominated, American comedy-drama series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Gilmore Girls made its debut on The WB on October 5, 2000, and ended on May 15, 2007, in its seventh season, which aired on The CW. Time magazine named it one of the top 100 television series of all time.
Gilmore Girls follows single mother Lorelai Victoria Gilmore (Graham) and her daughter Lorelai "Rory" Leigh Gilmore (Bledel) in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, a close-knit small town with many quirky characters, located roughly thirty minutes from Hartford. The series explores family, friendship, generational divides, and social class.

A tough investment indeed

As excited as I was to hear that the seventh and final season of "Gilmore Girls" will be coming to DVD on November 13--just in time for the upcoming holiday season--the fact that this deluxe full-series edition is being released on the same day is more than a little bit frustrating. As a fan who started loyally watching at the beginning of Season 6 and has quickly caught up with every episode since then, I think that this new collection--with the fancy cover art, more efficient packaging, and a slew of little extras, including a complete book of "Gilmore-isms"--will be pretty tough to pass up. Oh, but what's a Gilmore junkie to do when she has already purchased the first 6 individual seasons? Yes, unfortunately, these are the exact types of appeals that these companies present to mess with our minds and make an even larger profit. It's a pain, for sure, and yet here we all are, adoring this series and debating whether or not this investment is worth the money.

Great show - but terrible packaging

Like another reviewer, my set had one disc that did not work! (The last disc of season 5.) It's heartbreaking because this disc has several of my favorite episodes on it. I hope the manufacturer takes another look at the DVD authoring process and corrects this error. The set itself has clunky, outsized packaging. Lengthwise it's about the size of a loaf of bread, and it's puffy. I mention this because it can be kind of a hassle when some of your DVDs can't sit neatly next to the others.

Unbelievable show

"Me and my mom started watching the gilmore girls when it first came out on tv..... we watched like the first three seasons then we stoped because of work and school and lets face it just life.... but then my mom started to buy the seasons for me and i started from the first and my family just kept buying them for me till i now own all seven seasons.... and i have watched them over and over again i would recommend this show to anyone that has a sence of humor and likes a good laugh or cry because you will do both with this show... and im tellin you anyone will love this show if you give it a chance you just have to keep up because i will say they do talk mighty fast.... and thats what makes it so awesome to watch... and one day i will own the whole box set but for now i just have the seasons but either way i love this show and i wish it would have stayed on the air a little longer... and its funny because sometimes i catch myself talking like the gilmore girls do with my mom.... i love this show so much i just wish more people could see how much fun it is to watch i think every mother daughter should watch this show...."

Super product and shipping price

Gilmore Girls has always been a favorite. I love the fast dialogs, the jokes, the characters and the situations they find themselves in (and have to get out of). The premise follows a single mom, Lorelei, who had her daughter, also named Lorelei (or Rory) when she was very young herself. Since they are so close in age they are more like (envial) best friends than mother-daughter. A complete turn around from Lorelei's own relationship with her mother. Enter strange town folks, a deep romance and lots of memorable and humorous quotes throughout the next seven seasons of their show. I love it!
