The Lost World Complete Seasons1-3 DVD Boxset

"Well I finally got down to reading the book. I saw the movie when it first premiered in my area, but wasn't duly impressed with the 'loud soundtrack' and larger than life 'sauers.' But the book, now that's something different indeed. Crichton doesn't have to rely on top-billed actors and expensive special effects to deliver this dino-drama. He uses one of the oldest tools know to man: The written word. And how well he uses it too. I was a little put-off by the psuedo-science at the beginning, but actually began to enjoy and even relish the informative interjections. I felt it had basis on real investigation. The book moved well and was a fun read. There were moments of sheer terror and moments of exhuberation. I most enjoyed the survival tendencies of the heros. Critchton, to his credit, even put a strong female charactor into his tale. The charactors interacted well with each other making it easy to warm up to them. On the other side of the coin, the villians were most repelling, adding a certain tension to the mood of the book. Although these villians were the type one would love to hate, I found myself sympathezing with them nevertheless. The ending of the book was delivered too quickly and I thought better pacing would've provided a more even story. The reader was left with sort of a modern moral and the taste that he may visit this island again."
